| I also have a site where many of the ports show 50 to 85% collision
rates, is this normal. How should I interpert these speedometers.

I have experienced this problem in DR900TM V1.0G. I have even seen some ports
that didn't connect any devices indicated 100% collisions. I checked with LAN
analyzer then I found that the DR900TM sent false counter value to HUBwatch.
We upped the version from V1.0G to V1.1 then this problem was fixed.

When you connect some digital's FDDI interfaces, these interfaces set Ring
purger enable initiatory. If the ring purger is enabled, then an average
traffic is over about 30% utilization.

| Thank you for the advice.
We have upgraded the DecRepeater900TM firmware to V1.1, we still see
about the same problem with collisions as before.
I have tried to disable Ring Purging on the FDDI ring, but can't find
instructions anywhare on how to check/change the DecBridge 620 DEFEB
Any further assistenance will be greatly appriciated

| The MIB object is
dec ema decmibextension elanext efddi efddimac efddimactable (1,1) -
emacringpurgerenable
( defaults to 1(true)
set to 2(false) )
Or using DECmcc Bridge AM
set bridge xxx line 1 ring purger enable flag = false

| Thank you Bill for the quick reqly, but could you please spell it
out in simple terms.
Now that I know the MIB object, how do I change it?
As far as I know Hubwatch is the only tool on site.

HUBwatch provides no support for the DEFEB. For the DEFEB you need
either the DECmcc Bridge AM or an SNMP NMS.
