2109.0. "Multiple PEswitch drop off the ring " by KAOFS::P_SAVOIE () Wed Mar 15 1995 14:29

    Hi,

    Problem:
    3 out of 7 PEswitch 900TX are intermittently dropping off the FDDI
    backbone. The module has to be reset or powered off to reenter
    the ring. The various HUBwatch state/counters are not available yet.

    Topology:
    All the PEswitch use the DEChub ONE-MX docking station with DAS
    connections between stations. The failing stations are not adjacent
    to one another on the ring.

    Revision info:
    PEswitch 900TX, 6-Ethernet/FDDI Switch, HW=v1/2,RO=v0.4,SW=v1.0.2

    When the device fails an errolog entry is made:

    entry# =0
    entry status =0
    entry id =10
    firmware rev = 1.0
    reset count = 7
    timestamp = 0 0 0
    write count = 5
    fru mask = 0
    test ID = DEAD
    Error Data = SR=2704 PC=000002C6 Error Code=00002028 ProcCsr=5769
    Registers  = D0=00000001 D1=00000018 D2=0000FFF8 D3=00000800

    1. Is this a know problem ?
    2. What does the errorlog entry indicate.
    3. Errorlog entries are goodness for the people in the field only if
       we have access to the information on how to decode it, is this
       available anywhere either on web servers or otherwise ?

    Any replies are appreciated.
