I read the sales update article and I believe the following won't work, but it doesn't hurt to ask anyway ... My customer has a 900EE with a DEChub ONE. They use it to bridge 4 separate Ethernet segments. Now they need to bridge their FDDI net as well. Instead of buying a DECbridge 600 or a 900EF, can they replace the DEChub ONE with the DEChub ONE-MX, and use the FDDI port on the DEChub ONE-MX? What other alternatives are there? Can they trade in the 900EE for a 900EF? Thanks Tim

Correct - it won't work. The high-end docking station merely provides
a place to connect up to 2 FDDI mod-pmds, it does not provide the actual
FDDI "engine".

| 2080.2 | DECswitch 900EF + DEChub ONE-MX = FDDI front & back.... | NETCAD::BATTERSBY | Wed Mar 08 1995 11:08 | 6 | |
RE: .0 The DECswitch 900EE does not have an FDDI engine. It's
an Ethernet-only incarnation of the DECswitch 900EF. So yes, if
your customer wants to now pass FDDI traffic through a DECswitch,
they will have to use a DECswitch 900EF for this.
