2070.0. "Probewatch : longterm data recording" by SNOC02::BOYLEBRENDAN (Brendan Boyle) Tue Mar 07 1995 03:24
Hi!
Two questions for the Probewatch for Windows people out there...
1. Domain install : number of buckets
When installing a domain onto a Packetprobe90 there are fields to alter
both the period and the number of buckets for the long-term and
short-term history. However, when I configure these values to, for
example, 5 min (300 sec) and 700 buckets, the interval is changed but
the number of buckets recorded is uneffected. Regardless of how many
hours or days have been monitored, only the most recent 60 buckets are
displayed. Is this a known problem or can I force the number of buckets
to increase another way???
2. dvlog.cfg : auto-logging
The only way I can get the auto-logging function to work is to edit out
the comment symbol,#, in the dvlog.cfg header and alter the values in
that line to contain my probe name and intervals. If I add or insert lines
into this file, I register errors in dvlog.log and achieve no logging.
Is there a limit on the number of lines in dvlog.cfg or is it a syntax
problem eg. eol, tab or space character being rejected or are there
other suggestions?? Visually, the entered lines are the same in spacing
etc, and DOS Edit is being used in both cases.
Thanks,
Brendan.
