2038.0. "Just a stupid question ,if you've got time." by BRUNEL::PADDICK () Wed Feb 22 1995 10:35
Hello,
Customer has 1 DECconcentrator-900 and 1 DECbridge-900MX in each of
his DEChub-900's.
We changed the community names in each of the hub managers to his departmental
names. Following this, the front panel display, and all status for the
Concentrators and bridges disappeared, leaving blank PNMDs for example.
A statement in the release notes for 3.1 says that when changing the community
name, one should reset the hub manager with current settings. We haven't had
an opportunity to do this yet, and the customer hopes to do it soon.
Would this 'cure' the problem with the Conc/Bridge display?
Sorry if I'm being daft, but I'm new to this game.
Thank ewe,
Meic.
P.S. Does a reset on the manager disrupt the network, or could we do it 'live'.

It will cause a brief disruption in your network.
