Are 802.2 TEST and XID message proprietary to digital or do other companies use this, what is the protocol ID of these XID and TEST messages.

They are not proprietary to DEC, but are defined in the 802.2 LLC spec. Since they are 802 frames, they don't have a protocol type, if you mean that in the sense that it was used by Ethernet or SNAP frames. If you can get a copy of 802.2, look in chapter 5, starting on page 44, and you may find what you need. |
