Hi, What is the purpose of SLIP on a Packet probe, is it as for HUBwatch a way to run the applicatioon (Probewatch) or just another way to access the console. From the release notes and the console interface: Ethernet interface is for Management and Monitoring while the Slip interface is only for Management. I have tried to access the console while configured as a SLIP without any success. So what ? Thanks, Robert

You must put your probe in slip mode using some commands under
command line mode

Jean-Yves, I did that, and I see the packetprobe going a SLIP mode (event message after reboot). I was not able to have any connections using the PathWork and Cameleon SLIP stack. I was able to resume the connection using the remote console function of PROBEWATCH. I have probably mis something, but I would like to know what I will able to do with the Slip connection, before spending more time on that issue. In fact my main question is; CAN WE USE PROBEWATCH in SLIP mode as we can used HUBWATCH for the HUBS. Thanks, Robert | |||||
