1978.0. "DECprobe90 V2.1 & dvinst Shell Command ??" by ZTOIS1::VISTA (Renato VISTA/SI France/ZTO) Wed Feb 08 1995 04:47
Hi,
Using PROBEwatch V3.1 for WINDOWS, applied on DECpacketProbe V2.1
(ns3210.s firmware), I would like to use the CONFIG graphic option,
related to the NETscout command "dvinst".
Via SHELL interface, I do the command :
#dvinst test.cfg pb90_dec
where test.cfg is...
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
ALL MAC y y y y y y
with...
1 - Domain 4 - Short History 7 - Converstion
2 - Host Mode 5 - Long History 8 - Capture
3 - Segment Stats 6 - Host
and, on DECpb90 console :
max_host = 200
max_captsize = 2048
When the command is launched, I've got the following error message :
nqlapi: unexpected SNMP error 3
nqlapi: Agent Error: Variable contains bad value --> bufferControlFull
Error Creating Packet Capture group: No resources in Agent. See console.
The Domain/Session is running but with NO Capture Session...
I've of course decreased max_captsize from 8196 to 2048 via 4096...
My questions are :
1) is there any DECprobe90 V2.1 documentation available on EASYnet ?
2) what are the default parameters used when using dvinst command
(Buffer Size, Bucket Description, etc) ?
3) is my command fully supported ?
4) is it a known bug ?
Thank you for help.
Renato

| Hi There Renato
The command does work, as I too have used it.
You want to check that you don't have too many
domains installed, as this can be a problem, with
the probe running out of resources.

Tim
