We need to achieve full redundancy for the FDDI dual-ring attachment of 6 Ethernet segments inside a DEChub900. Can two DECbridge900 EF's located in the hub as described below provide transparent failover if one bridge goes down: Dual ring FDDI backbone comes into the hub from port 1 of first bridge and leaves from port 6 of 2nd. All 6 ports of each bridge are assigned to the same 6 backplane ethernet segments. I am hoping that only the Ethernet ports (and not the FDDI) of one bridge will go into standby mode. In case this bridge has a fault in Ethernet circuitry, the second will take over. If the bridge completely goes down the dual-ring will wrap at that point but the second bridge's FDDI connection will keep my Ethernets still connected to the FDDI ring. Will this work nicely and transparently? Thanks, Fusun
