When flood mode is enabled (base F/W 2.2), any reset of decbridge 90 (flash ver 3.1/3.4) by power reset or "set bridge reset" command causes the backbone port 1 to be disabled after boot. You need to manually "set port 1 ena" to get the bridge to do bridging. Is this a feature or a bug? 2nd question: How many times can the flash ROM be erased? We have a DB90 with 65,298 erases. Is there a limit? Thanks in advance. Daniel. CSC Sydney.

As to the Flash erasure counter, see note 541. You may have other problems on the network. dave | |||||

I suspect your flash erase counter has not really incremented 65,298 times! The area where this counter is kept is 2 bytes. I'm guessing it was somehow initialized incorrectly. If the first byte was set to FF (hex) then the full counter value would be FF00 (hex) or 65,280. Since your current value is 65298 it looks like you really have had 18 flash erases. 65298-65280=18 |
