A customer wants to monitor 8 Thickwires with 8 DECpacketprobe 90s. But we all know that the probes do not have AUI ports. Using a repeater to make the conversion will be too costly for him. Note 884.1 (By Bill) said that DECpacketprobe 900RR will have AUI port. How many AUI ports will there be? When will it be available ? Or does anyone have any suggestion for making this connection w/o a repeater? Richard

I think the DECpacketprobe 900RR is a token ring product.

Oh yes, DECrepeater 900RR is for Token Ring Networks.

There are no plans for a DECpacketprobe 90 with an AUI. Our 900 plans will give you at most 2 AUIs. Sorry, but in both cases, we are using existing hardware, and just putting RMON firmware on the module. |
