1831.0. "DECswitch connection problems" by VNABRW::SCHMOELZER_R () Mon Jan 02 1995 07:05
hi,
I have some troubles with 2 PEswitch 900EF (Firmware is 4.1) in an FDDI
Configuration. If i switch the FDDI ports to the backplane using
HUBwatch 3.1 (Win), i can verify that in the Lan interconnect window.
Then i connect a Concentrator 900MX and the switch to a FDDI-Lan, this
seems to work but if i a take a look in the "FDDI window" of the switch
it says there is NO "Network-neighbour".
Config is, switch: A-front, B-back; concentrator: b-front, A-back
(where the front ports have NO cable attached)
In this case it doesnt matter whether the ports of the DEFBA are
switched to the front or to the back, they will not connect to the
concentrator. I have to insert a third module so that the switch is in
the "middle" and it works. Even if i remove the third module the ring
wraps on that side and the other connection stays as normal.
The DEChub firmware is 3.1.0
anyone an idea
regards
Robert
