1815.0. "NDU with DECpc 425SLC Problem" by FRSIT::MAYER () Thu Dec 22 1994 13:10

Hi,

Following problem with DECndu Plus for DOS and DEC Notebook.

Configuration:

DEC Notebook 425SLC Premium
DEPEA Pocket Adapter

By using the following command
  decndup /s 16.185.224.152 (witch is a DEChub 900)

I got the following error message

	(c) Digital Equipment Corporation. 1993. All Rights Reserved.
	[SYSDESCR] Getting Device INFO (sysDescr)
	[ CDI_ALLOC Error - DLL Call Failed - 000b ]
	[           Portal_ID was 1 ]
	[ CDI_UNBIND Error - DLL_CLOSE failed - 000b ]
	[ CDI_UNBIND Error - DLL_CLOSE failed - 000b ]
	DECnduPlus: Network failure to send packet.

I tried the same NOTEBOOK with an XIRCOM Pocket Adapter PE3 ==> same problem

I tried a Toshiba Notebook ==> works with DEPEA and XIRCOM

My configuration files looks as follows:

DEVICE=PROTMAN.SYS /I:A:\
DEVICE=DEPEA.DOS

    I've also been unable to get the DEPEA to work in that config. AS that
    is my laptop...it's useless at the moment for upgrading. HELP!

1815.3set NI_IRQ=7 in [DATALINK] sectionNETCAD::WAGNERCOFFILMon Feb 20 1995 13:4316
	re: .0

	The IRQ is not specified in the [DATALINK] section of the
	PROTOCOL.INI. In the DEPEA.DOS section it says that the
	interrupt is 7. Try adding NI_IRQ=7 to the [DATALINK] section.

	Also, to avoid confusion... if you are not using the other adapters
	then delete their references from the PROTOCOL.INI.
	In this example, delete the [DEPCA.DOS], [YOURDRIVER.HERE],
	and [EWRK3.DOS] sections.

	If these do not help, check if there are any special [DATALINK]
	and [DEPEA.DOS] requirements for this driver.
