Hi, This is an **Extremely** urgent query. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am running Hubwatch For Windows 3.1 under HP OpenView 7.2 However, polling and traps do not work. Note 27 of the README.TXT file states that IP Polling only works on Winsock stacks supporting raw sockets and ICMP. My Question is : Do we support this and if not, what is the workaround? regards, Jason Caley, Network Products Business.

1809.1 | just use their stack | NAC::FORREST | Wed Dec 28 1994 17:18 | 7
I would suggest that you get HP OV running on the stack with which it ships, from FTP, I believe. Our stack supports ICMP to give you the PING capability, but we may have a different API than does the FTP stack. I don't know if the Pathworks stack supports raw sockets. Since HP makes nonstandard calls, I think your safest bet is to use the stack they provide.
1809.2 | Thanks. Am trying that at the moment | SNOC02::CALEYJASON | The truth although interesting, is irrelevant. | Wed Dec 28 1994 22:29 | 13 |
Thanks jack. Still having heaps of problems getting PC-TCP to work with the Xirocom packet drivers. I will try a desktop platform with a DE205 in it and see how it goes. Regards, Jason. P.S: Ed Buzzell had it going at the Academy. I'd like Ed to get in contact asap. |
