1804.0. "polling with Hubwatch for OSF" by TLSE10::SELLES (Pierre-Jean - Toulouse -France) Wed Dec 21 1994 14:32

	it seems there is a problem with the hub polling
with osf version .

	we enable it with default 10 s interval , but when we monitor
the network with a Lan analyzer , we see polling only 50 s interval .

	we are using the last version from BHUB .

	i didnt find this problem in the release notes

	is it a known one or do i have to enter a QAR ?

	thanks for your help

PS : by the way , how do we entr QAR for hubwatch ?

That polling interval is the minimum. What happens is that a *lot* of stuff
gets queued up for the poll, so, rather than flood your network constantly,
HUBwatch automatically (and intelligently) spreads-out the requests. With
a reasonable-sized hub, that will be significantly more than every 10 seconds.
For a single device, it will be a lot closer to 10 seconds.
