1790.1 | we think it should work | NAC::FORREST | | Wed Dec 28 1994 16:32 | 11 |
| I am not sure whether anyone has tried this combination and been
successful. In theory, HUBwatch should work with any vendor's IP stack,
as long as the IP stack complies with the WINSOCK specification. Of
course there may be differences in interpretation of the WINSOCK spec
that would cause problems.
So while we "officially" support the included IP stack, we will look
into a problem with any vendor's IP stack as time allows. Before
reporting a problem with a particular stack, you should query the stack
vendor's support line to see whether they have made any patches for
compatibility bugs.

1790.2 | confusing | ZUR01::SCHNEIDERR | | Thu Jan 05 1995 02:42 | 12 |
| I did a HUB900 course with some local partners using PCs for HUBwatch. We saw a
lot of problems with different IFcards, stacks and drivers.
I showd them on a DECpc with a DEC-IFcard and one of our driver how it could
run in 10 minutes, but all this PC stuff and "winsock" "compatible" stacks is
very confusing. You never know does it run or not.
Maybe we sould open an entry with combinations of cards, configs, stacks and
drivers that run.

1790.4 | LANWorkplace for DOS is OK | NYOSS1::PLUNKETT | | Fri Jan 13 1995 16:00 | 3 |
| I just got HW to work with LANworkplace for DOS without any
problems, or having to do anything beyond installing HUBwatch.
