1737.0. "DR90T+ and 3COM COMBO adapter: straight TP does not seem to work." by BIS1::BHT362::KNEUTS (Erwin Kneuts DTN 856-8726) Wed Nov 30 1994 09:06
Hello,
A PC connected with its twisted pair outlet to a DR90T+ does not seem to work.
Not working means failure a couple of passes of NCP loop between PC and VAX.
(see attached config)
A 3COM test program shows same behaviour.
The strange thing is that, if I put a DETPM-M between the PC's AUI outlet and
the twisted pair going to the 90T+, everything works fine.
If I use the thinwire output and connect to a DR90C : OK
If I use a DR90T instead of 90T+: does not work
several PC's with different 3COM cards have been used: same behaviour.
No other twisted pair equipment available at this moment on site.
This makes me think that for some reason the 3COM COMBO card is not compatible
with the 90T.
Thanks for any insight,
Erwin
I have following config:
VAX server
