1703.0. "HUBwatch Startup Errors" by GRANPA::DFAUST (Bad Things, man...) Thu Nov 17 1994 09:09

I have installed HUBwatch V3.1 for Windows on a DEC 466pc and found a
strange problem. I get an error from WSAStartup that says "WinExec
PWWSOCK.EXE failed, low conventional memory?" when I start Hubwatch.
the error did not occur when I deleted the "PATH = c:\dos;c:\windows"
    line from AUTOEXEC.BAT

Can anyone tell me why this occurs??

I have already seen this problem, i thinks that you have a old
version of Winsock.dll somewhere in your path

if my memory serves me this problem is documented on readme.txt

  hopes that help you

The error has nothing to do with "low conventional memory." It is actually
telling you that the PWWSOCK.EXE file is not in the HUBWATCH\IPSTACK directory.

As Jean-Yves said, it is documented in the README file what you must do when you
are running the Pathworks stack.

I don't know why the error did not occur when you removed the PATH line from
your AUTOEXEC.BAT file.
