1678.0. "DECbridge 900MX selectively forwards IP traffice" by WRAFLC::WOODALL (MACRO is the best.) Thu Nov 10 1994 13:18
My customer has had 2 seperate DECbridge 900MX bridges (out of a total
of 10) start behaving strangely. The DECNET and LAT traffice was
unaffected. The TCP/IP traffic was interrupted BUT ONLY FOR CERTAIN IP
ADDRESSES.
The bridges were configured for class B network mask of 255.255.0.0
The addresses in question were 137.244.193.???, 137.244.39.???, and
137.244.224.??? The addresses in these ranges were not passed by the
bridges. You could however still access other IP address such as
137.244.128.???
A reboot of the bridge would correctly the problem. After 2-3 weeks
the problem reappeared. Once the bridge enters this state, you cannot
ping it and cannot access it with HUBwatch.
This problem is currently affect approximately 3500 users.
Are there any known problems with the DECbridge 900MX and IP traffic??
