1669.3 | HUBloader is slated for OSF/1 | NETCAD::FORINO | | Wed Nov 09 1994 08:40 | 17 |
| There is going to be a replacement application for NDU called
HUBloader. It will have a GUI interface. The current plan is to have
it as an integrated application with the HUBwatch V4.0 releases on
all the platforms - Windows, VMS and OSF/1.
On Windows it will also be available as a standalone application
before V4.0 is out. The Windows version is almost ready for system testing
so you may see a note posted here in the near future looking for people
who may want to test it. More details about HUBloader will be presented
then.
Therefore, you can consider NDU as being dead except for those
devices that can only be loaded with MOP. OSF will never get
NDU but HUBloader instead. This will leave a window from HUBwatch
V3.1 to V4.0 on OSF/1 platforms where there is no firmware upgrade
capability.

1669.4 | Hubloader = T/S update??? | SCCAT::MILLER | | Wed Nov 09 1994 11:18 | 4 |
| Will Hubloader also update terminal server firmware (specifically
DS900TM Flash), which, as far as I can tell, NDU can't do today? It
would really be nice to have just one tool to update anything that can
be put in a hub.

1669.5 | Maybe in V4.0 | NETCAD::FORINO | | Wed Nov 09 1994 13:56 | 8 |
| That is being investigated for when HUBloader goes out with HUBwatch
V4.0. The standalone HUBloader Windows application will not have
support for the access servers.
However, the access server folks have built a similar Windows based
tool that they will have available.
Hopefully, we can get to a common tool for V4.0.
