I have installed the latest Hubwatch kit on my OSF Netview system. Hubwatch works fine when started standalone. I can get it launched from Netview too by selecting the hub-icon and choosing Hubwatch from the Monitor menu, but only if I modify /usr/lib/X11/app-defaults/Hubwatch to specify the address of the hub. I would have expected Netview to pass the address to Hubwatch, so that Hubwatch would be launched against the hub selected through the map interface. The documentation is quite sparse at the moment; have I missed something ? Erik

Erik, Up to now (BL56 and earlier) all the HUBwatch for OSF kits contained the ability to register HUBwatch with Netview for launching but these files were not completely correct. The mail that went out with the kit pointers specifically said that the Netview launch was not working. However, when BL57 goes out (probably today) the real support for Netview will be available. I will add another reply to this note later explaining how the launch from Netview works after BL57 goes out. John |
