| Currently under developement is the DECrepeater 900CP (DECPM); a
16-port, per-port switchable, 10Base2 repeater. It has all the
management capabilities of other 900-series repeaters, plus some.
Please contact the repeater product manager, Vernon Hines
(delni::hines), for product availability dates.

I've heard a port number of 12... I've tried calling Vernon; perhaps
he's away at Net. U.
Any accounting for the discrepancy?

I was able to reach Vern through Vaxmail. Try sending him mail for
expected ship dates. If you figure out how to use 90C on something
other than the thin wire rail I send you a case of beer.

| I sold 4 900CP's back in April. We put together an interim solution
to provide 4 thinwires on one floor and 3 thinwires on another floor.
When the 900CP comes out, the iterim solution comes out and then
they will have 6 thinwires on each floor.
Call me and we'll talk.

We will not give out product availability dates in this notes
conference. You must contact the appropriate product manager for such
information. In this case, you should contact Vern Hines
(DELNI::HINES).

Did you consider using the DETTR-AB 10baseT to Thinwire repeater
insteaed of the 90 repeater? I think they are considerably cheaper.
I'm trying to find a good way to replace 12 DEMPR's. The 900CP were
perfect.

The customer has star coax on the floors. They needed to connect
6 workstations per switched Ethernet which meant getting the 900EF
ports out to a bunch of 90C's running standalone. With the 2 AUI's
I could use a DECXM MAU and the 90C's but the UTP had to be converted
to 90C's. We didn't use as twister as the customer had plenty of
DEFAR's sitting around.

PS. Now that I've given the interim solution that we used, does
that mean I don't get my case. 8^)

I'm disqualifying you on the beer reward since your customer had
half the solution in place for you :^)
Thanks for the feed back though. Unfortunately I don't have a
cache of modules.
