I want to perform out-of-band management of a DECbridge 900MX from a VAX/VMS workstation running OpenVMS V6.1, UCX V3.1, and HUBwatch V3.1 in the following configuration: VMS W/S --Ethernet--DECserver700--SLIP serial link--DEChub ONE/MX module After following all of the suggestions in topics 703.* and 500.*, I am still unable to ping the DEChub ONE's OBM IP address from the DECserver 700 (port 1 is configured for SLIP). We are using the following adapters/cables: DEChub ONE OBM port: H8571-J Serial link: BC16E null-modem cable DECserver RS232-to-DEC423 adapter: H8575-A (DECserver 700 is the 8 port RS232 flavor) We have also tried replacing the BC16E null-modem cable with a straight-thru without success as well. Any ideas? Please advise with some explicit troubleshooting advice. \Thanks in Advance

Did you set up the Out-of-Band Management (OBM) port Speed (using menu 12) to match the port speed of the DECserver port? Bob

re: .1 Yes, the DEChub ONE current settings display for port speed (9600) matches the port speed of the DECserver port. Please advise.

Hi, The OBM port on the DEChub ONE has an LED associated with it, when this LED is on it means that the OBM port is ready for use, off means not available. Regards, Tom |
