I have had the same problem with past versions when trying to install on my notebook from my hard disk. Not sure what caused it but copying on to floppies and installing from there always got round it. regs ross
1592.2 | Place files from disks in same directory | NETCAD::WAGNERCOFFIL | Wed Oct 19 1994 18:09 | 7
Advice from Sue... If you install from the hard drive, copy all the files into the same directory, DON'T create a separate directory for each disk. Installit doesn't seem to be smart enough to prompt for the other directories when it finishes with the first one...

Putting it in one directory worked. Thanks, Scott

what a piece of work this install kit is.... :-) Not only do all the files need to be in the SAME directory, when installed off of a hardisk, but the problem is much more evident on a FASTpc. Fortunately, DEC has only issued me a laptop 320pc, and after putting all the eggs into one sock, it all installed, without failing at line 333. The statement ..GET QUEUED FILES appears to arrive before there are any queued files to be had.... another, of the many, DOS/Windows interop problems solved. - dg |
