1555.0. "HUBwatch and Firmware levels ???" by CTSNRG::SCHEID () Tue Oct 11 1994 20:26

    I am about to upgrade my customer's many DECbridge 900MX (aka 900EF)
    to the current version of firmware v1.4.0. My customer is running
    HUBwatch for OPenVMS VAX v3.0. Will Hubwatch recognize and properly
    manage the 900MX with V1.4.0 firmware. My customer is planning to
    upgrade to the HUBwatch for OpenVMS v3.1 when it is officially
    released.

    Also are there any other interdependicies between firmware levels
    such as does a V1.4.0 900MX bridge in a v3.0.0 900MS Backplane
    work or does the 900MS firmware level have to be V3.1.0

    Any help would be appreciated

1555.1V1.4.0 Firmware will play in V3.0 FW HUBs....NETCAD::BATTERSBYWed Oct 12 1994 10:4912
    Charlie, there should be no problem. You should be able to
    upgrade those bridges (er...switches for those into the latest
    marketing jargon), to V1.4.0 and be able to manage them in the
    HUBs your customer is currently running at V3.0.
    The only other requirement is a hardware requirement that the
    minimum hardware revision level of the bridges (switches), to
    support the feature of this release is:
    DECbridge 900MX Hardware version V0/1 (as seen in the console
    menu 3).
    This is noted as such in the release notes for V1.4.0

1555.2A little clearer statement on rev levelsNETCAD::BATTERSBYWed Oct 12 1994 10:5611
    Ahh let me be a little clearer on revs

    For V1.4.0 bridge firmware upgrade and ability to manage the
    bridges....must have:

    - V3.0 or higher of HUBwatch software
    - V3.1 or higher of DEChub 900 Multiswitch formware

    As stated in DECbridge 900MX Release notes for V1.4.0
