1495.0. "hubwatch V3.1 bridge900 port allocation" by MEOC02::DWYERMICHAEL () Thu Sep 29 1994 03:40
Hello
I have a customer with two DHub 900s. Both are up to rev
S/Ware V3.0.0
HW=F
RO=V1.1.6
They also have two DB900s in EACH DHub. All are at this rev:
HW=V0/1
RO=V0.2
S/Ware = V1.2.1
We have loaded Hubwatch V3.1.3 onto a DECpc425SL (8 meg mem,Xircon enet
card) for management while we work out Novell issues with their management
PC (another issue). Wow, management is slow with this laptop - but it
works as th einterim measure.
Problem:
We can manage one DHub's bridges correctly - no problems. Everything
OK.
When trying to allocate ports to either flex channels or front panel on
BOTH the other DHub's bridges, Hubwatch will bring up the port allocation
(station configuration) window background but it has nothing in it .
There is no port INTERNAL-EXTERNAL boxes for any
port - even for the FDDI port. Thus we cannot allocate the ports to the
flex channels. The two bridges work fine otherwise (external
connections) . The background comes up and the hourglass goes, the
arrow then sits and stares at us.
As yet I have not had the opportunity to swap the bridges between hubs
- acces to customer down-time.
Has anyone seen this - Any patches ?? Anything I need to look at ?
Is the PC running out of memory ?? There were only the minimum windows
open on the PC at the time.
The only other difference between
HUbs is that the suspect hub has 2 x rep900FPs; the 'good' one has only
one rep900FP.
Thanks
Michael
