1403.0. "where are the seeds unit for Hubwatch/windows and hubwatch/OSF/1 ?" by TLSE10::SELLES (Pierre-Jean - Toulouse -France) Mon Sep 12 1994 07:35

	where can we get the seeds units for evalution for hubwatch/windows
and hubwatch/OSF1 ?

	and , " a candide question" , why is the OSF/1 delayed one month after
windows ? we are waiting since august for a customer , we told him that
OSF/1 was better for supervising multi-hubs , and now we have to deliver
this solution for end of september , so we are a little bit annoyed by the delay.

now we all understand in the field that there are priorities in engineering
and questions of funding too ;-)

For what it's worth...

HUBwatch for OSF V3.1 is taking longer because this is the first port of
HUBwatch to a 64-bit environment. HUBwatch for Windows V3.1 is easier
because it is the 2nd port to the PC environment. Plus, we have more demand
for the Windows version, so...

    Note- HUBwatch for OSF will integrate with POLYCENTER NetView on
    release and seeds should be avialable by the end of September. As for
    Windows seeds;

SUBJECT: HUBwatch for Windows 3.1 seeds available

HUBwatch for Windows 3.1 seeds are now available at:
	NAC::NIPG:[MANAGE.WINDOWS.WINDOW31.DISK1]*.*
	NAC::NIPG:[MANAGE.WINDOWS.WINDOW31.DISK2]*.*

These files will be updated frequently until SSB submission around the end of
September. We are ready for widespread testing on this kit and are especially
looking for feedback in the following areas:
	- Do we have a reasonable set of non-DEC adapters and drivers
		(see NAC::NIPG:[WINDOWS]DRIVERS.TXT for a list)
	- How it plays with HP OpenView (Windows)
		(see NAC::NIPG:[MANAGE.WINDOWS.HP] for kit pointer)
	- ODI (Novell driver)
	- Installation in general
This note is also being posted in the KALI::HUB_MGNT Notes conference;
bug reports can be posted as replies to this note.

The manuals can be copied from
TNPUBS::PUBLIC$651:[PUBLIC.ONEHUB]HUBWATCH_WINDOWS_V31_USE.PS;1
and

FDDI hub devices are now managed - DECbridge 900MX/DECswitch 900EF,EE,
DECconcentrator 900MX, and PEswitch 900EF. This version also manages
the DECrepeaters 900FP, 90FS and 90TS. GIGAswitch will be managed from Windows
in the next version. Currently it is only manageable from VAX/VMS and OSF1
AXP. See NAC::NIPG:[MANAGE.CONFG]HUBWATCH.TXT for more details.
