hi,
>> but does not have a DECagent 90. Is this a firm requirement ?
Yes, it's mandatory ,for managing 90FL under snmp ( HUBwatch) you must
have a proxy agent as Decagent90.

1401.2 | RBMS not MOP | ROGER::GAUDET | Because the Earth is 2/3 water | Mon Sep 12 1994 11:37 | 5 |
| Just a nit, but you need a SNMP <-> RBMS proxy agent (which the DECagent 90 is).
The DECbridge 90/90FL does talk MOP but in-band management by the DECagent 90 is
accomplished with RBMS.

| Note that you need a DECagent 90 to manage the DECbridge90 (either
flavor), but that the agent can be anywhere on the LAN - it need not be
in the same hub.

1401.5 | International acronyms? | ROGER::GAUDET | Because the Earth is 2/3 water | Tue Sep 13 1994 10:19 | 6 |
| No problem Jean-Yves. Unfortunately, Digital's acronyms are not internationally
friendly. How do you translate "Maintenance Operations Protocol" (MOP) and
"Remote Bridge Management Software" (RBMS) into French? I doubt they would end
up with the same acronym after translation. :-)

| Ah, so you killed a few brain cells while on holiday, eh? No sympathy for
self-inflicted injury. :-)
Last time I was on your side of the pond (Paris in '86) I drank a few
Kronenbourgs. My guess is that you know of some better brews than that!
But I digress...
