1378.0. "PEswitch 900TX - IMPORTANT Configuration info !" by NAC::ALLEN () Tue Sep 06 1994 09:08
NOTE: there is NO front panel FDDI connection on the PEswitch 900TX -
until FDDI TREE connections are supported in the DEChub backplane, it is
necessary to bring FDDI INTO the DEChub backplane via a DECbridge 900MX/
DECswitch 900EF or a DECconcentrator 900MX and OUT of the DEChub
backplane via a DECbridge 900MX or a DECconcentrator 900MX if a
connection to an external FDDI network is desired - in other words, TWO
DECbridge or DECconcentrator modules are needed for external connections
to a dual ring.
When there is firmware support for FDDI TREES in the DEChub back-plane
in the future, only ONE DECswitch 900EF or DECconcentrator will be
required for tree configurations)
NOTE: Careful evaluation of the power requirements of the modules in
a full DEChub configuration should be done when using one or more
DECswitch 900EFs since these devices consume more power than an average
module
