1349.0. "HUBwatch & DS 700" by DPDMAI::DAVIES (Mark, SCA Area Network Consultant) Thu Aug 25 1994 14:13

My customer has many DECserver 700s. He wants to upgrade them to
    DECserver 900s. GREAT.

His question is: Can HUBwatch manage the DECserver 700?

I believe that this is a 2 part questions:

    1. Will HUBwatch draw a picture of the DS700 and allow him to manage
       via point-&-click?

    2. If not, can it be managed bu HUbwatch via the SNMP manager
       capability? (yes, right?)

    Thanks,

    Mark

If you mean "DS700", no. The DECserver 700 is not supported by HUBwatch.
If you mean "DS900", yes. HUBwatch does support the DECserver 900TM. (and
   90TL and 90M and 90L and 90L+).

I don't know what you mean by "SNMP manager capability". Again, HUBwatch
does not manage (in any way) DECserver 700's. There *is* point-n-click
management for the hub-based terminal servers (DS900/DS90)

HUBwatch support for the DS900TM is somewhat limited. You can manage per-port
characteristics, do session control, get counters, etc, but there is absolutely
no LAT support. This is because the terminal servers did not implement a LAT
MIB for SNMP management.
