Hi, I have a customer who is trying to add a DS90TL to a hub using Hubwatch for Windows V2.0. He gets an error message "Hubwatch Error 1001 - Cannot add module". He is able to add the DS90TL to the community table and manage the decserver as a standalone agent, i.e. makes it current and gets a picture with only the decserver in it. So this at least makes it appear as if the SNMP info is correct. I have checked all the snmp info on the server and it looks ok. I am able to add a DS90TL here in the CSC without any problems. The decagent is running V2.1-3 and the DS90TL is running BL44G-10A. He has tried a few servers and has tried it in multiple hubs without any success. He has also tried multiple slots. He is able to manage decrepeaters and decbridges without any problems. I am out of ideas. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Steve CSC Sydney.

1310.1 | Cannot Add to Empty Slot | LEVERS::DRAGON | Mon Aug 15 1994 09:47 | 18
Steve, One possible cause for the Customer's problem is that the slot must contain an 'unknown' module before HUBwatch for Windows will add a module to it. In other words, you cannot add a module to an empty slot or you will get the message "Cannot add module'. You must physically insert the DECserver 90TL into the hub, perform a poll/refresh or wait until polling picks up the DECserver 90TL as a module of type unknown. Then select this unknown module slot and perform an add of the DECserver 90TL. Hope this helps, Bob

Hi, Customer has fixed this. He found the case of the PUBLIC string different between the decagent and the 90TL. He fixed this and now ir works. Thanks, Steve |
