Senerio: 4 DEChub 900's and 5 servers on a FDDI ring. Question: Can clients be locked out from accessing certain servers using HUBwatch? That is, can user 1 be restricted to only server 1, user 2 to server 2, etc. Or... do I have to do this w/hardware? Thanks, Lou

.0:> Question: Can clients be locked out from accessing certain servers I'm not sure I understand what you mean. By "server", do you mean a workstation/pc/etc on which HUBwatch is run? If so, then no, not directly through HUBwatch. Tom Hood HUBbosh | |||||

This may not be the approach you're looking for, but one way is to put the servers to be used by a group of clients on one backplane LAN, the servers to be used by another group of clients on another backplane LAN, etc. If you don't bridge between them, then you have effectively restricted access. |
