we would like for a customer to write scripts with SNMP so that we can configure without operator intervention an FDDI connection for a concentrator . as the MIBS are rather complex ( of course Hubwatch is hidding this very well ) , do you have examples of some scripts on how to configure ports and attach to a given FDDI channel ? thanks for your inputs

The instances for the ports in the chasPortTable are "random". Everytime you power up, the MAM will create this table and it may create a chasPortTable that looks different then the last time it was powered up (even if the configuration did NOT change.) This is also true for the chasPortSubtypeTable, chasLigoTable, chasSubtypeLigoTable... Because of this, there is NO WAY (my opinion) to create a "simple" script to configure LAN Hopping. And FDDI is the most difficult to do anyway. Luc |
