1185.1 | No serial upgrade support | ROGER::GAUDET | Because the Earth is 2/3 water | Wed Jul 06 1994 12:01 | 16 |
| The DEChub 900 modules and the DECagent 90 support TFTP upgrades (remote and
console-initiated). The DECagent 90 also supports MOP upgrades. The DECbridge
90/90FL supports only MOP upgrades. If you're feeliong really ambitious, you
can setup your PC to be a TFTP server by using some software from FTP Software.
But that costs real money. DECndu Plus is free.
What sort of problems are you having with setting up DECndu Plus? Maybe we can
help you get your notebook configured so you won't have these problems at the
customer site. Talk to us.
FYI, in note 1133 I posted copies of the CONFIG.SYS, AUTOEXEC.BAT and
PROTOCOL.INI files that we are using on a DECpc 425SE laptop with a DEPEA
network interface. You need the updated DEPEA driver, which I can supply you
with. Check note 836 if you have a PC-MCIA card.

Let me add that I have never done this, but have been told that it is possible.

1185.3 | it can be done | LEVERS::CURRIER | | Wed Jul 06 1994 14:12 | 9 |
| I have loaded a .bin file to the DECHub900 management card from a PC
using TFTP over SLIP & a software package from another vender that
provides SLIP & TFTP support. This vender also provided SNMP over SLIP
which is necessary to set up the TFTP process on the DECHUB900
management agent.

1185.4 | we have seen some light | KAOFS::R_YURKIW | reward those who bring bad news!! | Wed Jul 06 1994 15:45 | 10 |
| re: .1
I am using the older 386 notebook (DECpc 320P) and an older Xircom
adapter card. I had My peer in the office try it on his notebook which
is the same as mine just a newer Xircom adapter and he seems to have
gotten DECndu to work. We will try the upgrade next week.
Thanks for your reply.
