I have a question regarding the DEMON 4 port ethernet hub. Is this
device a full, half or no repeater. I have a situation that the
customer wants a 10BaseT connection to a remote area fo the plant and
he wants to keep his wiring twisted pair.
#1) He has a central hub (Chipcom I believe) with 10BaseT repeater cards
in them. From here I am thinking of going out into the plant some 250ft
to a DEMON and then another couple hundred feet to the workstation. I
think this is ok by itself but can someone confirm this.
#2) the larger picture here is that we effectively have two of these
arrangements coming off two separate chipcom hubs that are
interconnected by a synchronous fibre link. (see diagram). I am not
sure if this breaks repeater rules or not. Can someone help..
