Basic concepts of MIBs are covered in "The Simple Book", by Marshall Rose. We don't explain how our MIBs differ from other vendors. That would be a very 'bottom up' approach. Instead, we advertise features. For example, the our newer repeaters have security features which happen to be implemented using the DEC Extended Repeater MIB. We advertise these features, not the MIB objects which make these features possible. The theory is that the customers care about the features, not how the features are implemented. HubWatch documentation explains how to use the features. The MIBs themselves explain how a Network Management Station uses the MIB objects. -Shawn | |||||
