I have customer request for UTP modPMD rather than MMF on the DECbridge 900MX, is there any plan to offer this option? The reason behind the request is simple, with today's DEChub FDDI options, an unneeded DECconcentrator 900MX is required. I am posting this in case my customer isn't the only one asked this. Faraday

The DECbridge 900MX does not use modPMDs; only MIC connectors are available. What is it about your customers configuration that requires an extra concentrator?

Hi, I have just come from a customer where they would like to connect a server to FDDI using UTP and have about six individual ethernets (something like the DECbridge900). They don not want to use fibre. Regards Ole

I don't know whether this is considered non-disclosure, but there has been discussion for a DEChub One unit with the capability of supporting a modular PMD which could give you FDDI UTP Support. However, you weren't explicit in whether you wanted this DECbridge to be hub-mounted or stand-alone. Which do you want?

I also have a customer that may need a CDDI type connection. The concentrator would be installed in a DEChub900. Do you have any idea if UTP or CDDI PMD's will be added and at what time frame? Thanks |
