1102.0. "Hassles with HUBWIN 2 kit!!" by BLKPUD::WARNESG (This space deliberately left blank) Fri Jun 10 1994 08:41

    Can anyone tell me the correct method of obtaining and installing the
    network SSB kit for HUBwatch for Windows ?

    I originally found the pointer to the kits at :

    NAC::LENAC_USER:[NETWORKS.MANAGE.WINDOWS.WINDOWS2]

    So I made up two floppies with the following file structure :

    Disk 1 :-

    A:\
    |
    |____DISK1
             |_DISK.ID
             |_HUBW20.INF
             |_HUBWV20.001
             |_INSTALL.EXE
             |_LOGO.BMP
             |_READ_ME.TXT

    Disk 2 :-

    A:\
    |
    |
    _____DISK2
             |_HUBWV20.002
             |_DISK.ID

    With the above arrangement, during the installation when the prompt for
    disk 2 came, I inserted the 2nd disk and clicked OK, but the installation
    just kept reprompting for the 2nd disk. So I tried moving the two files on
    disk 2 into the top level directory on that diskette - this got me
    further .... but not much !! The following error was reported :

    FATAL ERROR AT SCRIPT LINE 301

    Cannot open MediaBuilder library file

    and the installation bombed out !

    All the above happened at a customer site when I was trying to arrange
    a demo, with the result that the demo had to be abandoned.

    Back at the office, I looked through this notesfile and spotted note
    988 - tried the advice there to copy all the files to the hard disk
    and it all went ok.

    I have two questions therefore :

    1) Was this kit ever meant to be installed direct from a two floppy disk
       setup, or was the intention always that the installer would first
       need to copy the files to the hard disk ?

    2) Also, I notice now that the files in

       NAC::LENAC_USER:[NETWORKS.MANAGE.WINDOWS.WINDOWS2]

       are different to those I had - namely :

       HUBWT201.001 instead of HUBWV20.001
       &
       HUBWT201.002 instead of HUBWV20.002

       Is this new kit still an SSB kit or field test ?

1102.1Do not create a directory structure on a floopyNACAD::PARKFri Jun 10 1994 15:0814
    You should not make any directory structure on both floopies. Just
    copy entire directory into your floopy.

    copy NAC::LENAC_USER:[NETWORKS.MANAGE.WINDOWS.WINDOWS2.DISK1] a:\*.*
    for disk1

    copy NAC::LENAC_USER:[NETWORKS.MANAGE.WINDOWS.WINDOWS2.DISK2] a:\*.*
    for disk2

    HUBWT201.001 and HUBWT201.002 is the maintenence release after we
    shipped V2.0. This supports the Novell ODI.
