No. What is the problem you're trying to solve?

1068.2 | API to controll ports on DECserver? | TAVIS::GIVON | Ronen Givon | Wed Sep 07 1994 04:08 | 16 |

Coming late upon this note, I have a need to perform some basic tasks
on ports of a DECserver90M.
Specifically, I need to log of some ports. I would have also like to
know their status in advance.
On VMS I used to do it with the unsupported TSM callable interface.
What is available for me on an OSF/1 in a system where there is a
DECagent, DECserver (On DEChub90) and HUBwatch?
Thanks

| You need to use TSM to do the kinds of things you want to do with
your DECservers. Most of the DECserver management is not available
through SNMP.
For more info, see TOOK::TERMINAL_SERVERS

1068.4 | LogPort using SNMP? | TAVIS::GIVON | Ronen Givon | Thu Sep 08 1994 06:57 | 7 |

1 I understand that TSM is not available on OSF/1.
2 Can I "log port" on a DECserver90M using SNMP?

1. Check POLYCENTER DECnet Manager on Netview for OSF/1 SPD. I think
TSM functionallity is in there.
2. Yes, I tried this with Hubwatch for Windows Version 2.0. From the
community table I chose a DECserver 90M. This brings up the
picture of the module. Double clicked on a port which pops up
another window specific to that port. Chose Reset port push button
This brought up a warning popup indicating that this would
disconnect all sessions to the port and log the port out if I
continued. Clicked on Ok and after a short delay (hour glass
displayed) logged out the port.

1068.6 | log vs log | SLINK::HOOD | I'd rather be at the Penobscot | Thu Sep 08 1994 11:26 | 10 |
| Do you mean log (as in login/logout) or log (as in keep a record of activity)?
If it's the logout, then yes HUBwatch will do that (for DS90M/90TL/900TM).
If it's the record, then no, you cannot do that. Well, you could continuously
poll the server for different MIB counters, but you will get no LAT info thru
SNMP.

1068.7 | Logout port from a detached C program | TAVIS::GIVON | Ronen Givon | Sun Sep 11 1994 05:19 | 8 |

I need to logout ports on a T.S. The functionality as 6.5 describes.
Nevertheless, I need to perform it from a detached C program running on an
OSF system with TCP/IP.
