1062.0. "HUBwatch Alarms and UCX" by QUIVER::WILSON () Thu Jun 02 1994 12:23

Problem with HUBwatch Alarms and UCX
------------------------------------

A customer had a problem bringing up the Alarms Poller and Viewer
applications because their system information was not correctly setup
in the UCX hosts database.

The Alarms Viewer and Poller both try to get the hosts IP information.
If this is not correctly setup in UCX then a failure is returned
and these applications will not start.

---------------

The Fix for UCX
---------------

Correctly have your system in the UCX hosts database. You can
accomplish this by the following steps:

   $ ucx
   ucx> set host system_name /address=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
   ucx> show host system_name
   ucx> exit

You should now be able to run the Alarms Poller and Viewer.

MultiNet
--------

I have not seen this problem on a system running MultiNet.

1062.1With 2 ethernet controllers ?KERNEL::WARDJOFri Jan 27 1995 07:439
    Hello,

    Does anyone know how you configure a VMS machine with 2 ethernet
    controllers, so that the poller uses the correct ip address.

    Thanks,

    Jon
