| The firmware is not on SLINK. You can get it via ftp from ftp.digital.com
in the /pub/DEC/hub900 directory (as the HUBwatch release notes say). It's
probably also available through DECnet; look thru the notesfile for the
address.
NDU is not included in the HUBwatch savesets. However, it is available
in SLINK::HUBWATCH$PUBLIC:NDUPLUS010.A;12

Personally, I need warm weekends, my kayak, and cold beer to be all set,
but as far as a running DEChub goes, I guess you'll be all right.

1050.3 | How does a Customer get the firmware | WOTVAX::CLOWESC | Colin Clowes | Tue Aug 16 1994 11:05 | 8 |
| Hi,
My Customer (who does not have internet access) has read the Hubwatch covering
letter that says the firmware is included in the kit. Is the firmware update on
the VMS consolodated distribution or does he have to buy a firmware kit ?
Or will we send him a firmware kit for free !?

1050.4 | Firmware kit comes with HUBwatch | ROGER::GAUDET | Because the Earth is 2/3 water | Tue Aug 16 1994 13:22 | 8 |
| When you order HUBwatch (OpenVMS or MS-DOS) you will automatically receive the
DEChub Consolidated Firmware Kit. This contains the latest firmware that is
supported by the given version of HUBwatch. The consolidated kit is also
separately orderable from the SSB (sorry, but I don't have order numbers). What
is maintained on the Internet is interim updates (if any) to the firmware images
and release notes until the next release of the consolidated kit.

1050.5 | Is the firmware on the VMS consolodated distribution ? | WOTVAX::CLOWESC | Colin Clowes | Wed Aug 17 1994 06:14 | 15 |
| Thanks, thats great but:
I cant't find the firmware on the VMS CDrom.
If a customer is getting Hubwatch from the VMS layered products CDrom does he
need to buy the Firmware distribution to get the updates.
If he does he will not like it.
Alternatively; are there any arrangements for customer support to get the kit to
him ?
I know I could get the kit and give it to my customer, but I dont want to do this
for every potential hub user !

Now that is an excellent question. I will find out and let you know (and make
sure it gets on it if it is not).

1050.7 | Frimware kit does not meet the criteria | NAC::FORREST | | Wed Aug 17 1994 15:52 | 13 |
|
Colin, there's a rule that everything on the CD be LMF compliant.
Since our firmware does not require LMF, we do not meet the criteria.
Your customer can order the firmware kit at $100, if he does not
have Internet access. Here's the part numbers:
QB-32TAA-SA DEChub FW V/V SRL TK50 PKG
QB-32TAD-SA DEChub FW DOS SRL RX23 PKG
Some distributors have also asked if they could put the firmware
kits on their "bulletin board" for their customers. We have no
problem with that as long as they keep it updated.
