1045.0. "FDDI configuration question with Hubwatch." by ISIDRO::ATT523::Julio-Vzquez () Tue May 31 1994 06:45

	Hello,

I have a Hub900 with two DECConcentrator 900 MX, one of this have
port A and B in a dual ring connection via the front panel
( ports #1 & #6 ). I want that the second concentrator will be treed
off Concentrator #1 via a backplane port (S-Port) to the backplane
port (M-Port) of the first Concentrator, like it is show in the
	figure.

	     -------------- -------------

1.- Can I Configure This with Hubwatch V.3 and Firmware V.2.0 for
the concentrator and V.3.0.0 for the HUBmanager DEChub 900 MS.

If not, in when it will be posible?.

2.- How can I change the Back-port's to define it like M or S with
	Hubwatch?.

Thanks in advance.

  not yet,

i think, after reading carefully release notes form V3.0 of Hubmanager and
V3.0 of Hubwatch , V2.0 of Deconcentrateur900 that you can have
only port A and B available/configurable on the Backplane under Hubwatch
    V3.0.

may be this restriction get out with V4.0 of Hubwatch and/or V4.0 of
  Hubmanager...

  hopes that help you

Only trunk connections (A&B) are supported for current FDDI products on
    the 900 backplane.

New revs of module firmware, hub firmware, and HUBwatch will be
required to add Tree connections. These features are in contention for
future upgrades; watch this notesfile for announcements.
