940.0. "DECbridge 90 seems to change itself?" by TENNIS::KAM (Kam USDS (714)261-4133 (DTN 535) IVO) Wed Apr 27 1994 14:18

I recently moved office to another building. Since that time my DECbridge
90 seems to be out-of-control.

This morning (6:30am) I checked the bridge and the protocols were set to the
following. Around 9:30 am all hell broke loose and I was getting request
to download bunches of machines/terminal servers. Being a MicroVAX III, NCP
consumes about 90% of the CPU. Upon looking at the bridge I notice that
Protocol 1: became used.

Any ideas what would do this? I am the only one that has access to this
bridge. I did a SET ALL to get the protocol filters established. Upon doing
this the bridge state was 12 so I issued a RESET BRIDGE.

        Any insights would be appreciated
	Regards,

	 kam

Looks like your bridge is not installed correctly:

The Work Group Size Exceeded errors is 54,702.
       The Root port is 2.

You have connected the backbone of your network to the Work Group port
on the bridge (this is the hub backplane in a hub, or the 'lanhole'
connection on the large flat upper surface when standalone).

Can you describe or diagram your configuration?
