Just a quick question, I hope. I have seen from a previous entry that the DECrepeater 90FA will automatically switch between 10BASEFL and FOIRL and therefore ensure that the 90FA will interoperate with a DECrepeater 200/RC. The question is given that the FL and FS have more fibre ports, will they do the same ? Regards Neal Evans

>> ...the DECrepeater 90FA will automatically switch between 10BASEFL and >> FOIRL For clarity's sake, the DECrepeater 90FA does not actually "switch" between 10BASEFL and FOIRL. Rather, its implementation of 10BASEFL is backward compatible with the FOIRL standard (this is according to the engineer who designed the DECrepeater 90FA). >> The question is given that the FL and FS have more fibre ports, will >> they do the same ? The DECrepeater 90FL, DECrepeater 90FS, and DECrepeater 900FP (as well as the DECrepeater 90FA) will all interoperate with a DECrepeater 200/RC because the 90(0) series repeaters are all backward compatible with the FOIRL standard.
