929.0. "DR 900FP plus DECbridge 900MX config" by CSOA1::TEATER (RCDD - Fight the Good Fight) Fri Apr 22 1994 18:05
    I haven't heard about the DR 900FP (referred to in a previous note)
    but it is a 12 port fiber repeater with pairs of port assignments.
    This, I believe, solves a configuration for a proposal I am working on.
    Will this work?
                                +----- fiber -> DEFLM on Ethernet A
                                :+---- fiber -> DEFLM on Ethernet A
                                ::+--- fiber -> DEFLM on Ethernet A
                                :::+-- fiber -> DEFLM on Ethernet B
                                ::::+- fiber -> DEFLM on Ethernet B
                                :::::
                         900MX  900FP   90C  900TM
                          | |    | |     |     |
      Ethernet A     -----*-|----*-|-----*-----|--
                            |      |           |
      Ethernet B     -------*------*-----------*--

    I can do this with the customer's existing Chipcom OnLine but would
    rather replace it with a DEChub 900 since they do not have the Chipcom
    bridge, UTP module, and enough fiber ports.

| | Yup; this will work fine.

    Each pair of fiber ports can be mapped to a backplane flex channel.
