889.0. "Probs Using an Agent90 to manage a Bridge90" by GMTNET::SYSTEM (SYSINIT-F-NOPAYRISE) Thu Apr 07 1994 10:31
Hi,
I am trying to manage a DB90 in a HUB900,using a DECagent90
in a DH90.
I can manage the DECagent90 just fine,using HUBwatch/VMS 2.0.1
I can manage the HUB900,and some of its modules just fine, via OBM
and Hubwatch/VMS 2.0.1
I click on the DB90,manage table, and add an Agent, quoting the IP
address of the Agent90,and the MAC address of the DB90. It takes
the registration,but if I double-click on the DB90,it returns
'Failed to get bridge management information'
Agent is running T2.0.10
Bridge is running 3.1 (I think)
Any ideas please ?
Cheers Mick

| You have missed a step. Check the HUBwatch instal and config
manual. You need an entry on the agents table for DECagent with
its ip address and mac address of the bridge and an entry for the
bridge with the decagents ip address and max address of the
bridge. HUBwatch needs to associate the mac address of the bridge
with the IP address of the DECagent - check the manual for
the details.
