868.0. "DECagent V2.0 upgrade fails" by SNOC02::SFEWILSON () Mon Mar 28 1994 21:16

    ******** Help upgrading DECagent 90 to V2.0 *********

I have been attempting to upgrade a Decagent from V1.0 to the recently
release v2.0, but with little success. I have been following
instructions as $$readme.txt with the two stage load method for V1.0 to
    V2.0.
The load system reports a successful load after the LOAD NODE DENMA
command, but the DENMA fails to reboot, with the first two LEDS on.

Do I have to dump down V1.1 first??

    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Steve

Steve,

No, you do not have to load V1.1 before V2.0. We have tested the upgrade path
directly from V1.0 to V2.0 with no problems reported (until now, of course :-{).
In fact, I just upgraded one of my V1.0 agents to V2.0 following the procedure
in the $$README.TXT file and it worked as expected.

Can you provide any further details about your setup? In your description you
said that the first two LEDs are on. What is the status of the 3rd and 4th
LEDs? Flashing? Off? If flashing, the agent is looking for an IP address, but
you should still be able to connect a console terminal to it and get the console
menu. If both the 3rd and 4th LEDs are off, something is very wrong.
