826.0. "900 config advice" by NEWOA::HARRISON (Don't worry, its only 0's & 1's!) Tue Mar 15 1994 12:07

    Hi,

I have completed a schematic of our proposed LAN environment utilising
the DEChub 900 and UTP structured cabling for our Disaster Recovery
customers. I would appreciate some feedback on the plan taking into
    account the following objectives:

    1) Flexible LAN topology with ability to provide multiple ethernets
and one extended LAN with access to multiple customer communication devices.

    2) Ease of management, Hubwatch for Windows.

    3) Integration of WAN services, DECbrouter 90, WANrouter 90, ISDN 30
with Primary Rate switch supporting aggregation up to 2mb/s and multiple
    64k circuits to different sites.

    4) Integration of telecomm services into structured cabling.

Please could someone give me advice on the configuration guidelines of
the DEChub 900 in this scenario particularly on the DECbridge 900.
I envisage bridging the two thickwire ethernet segments onto the Hub to
support the two main backbone segments and want to provide an extended
LAN facility. In addition I want to be able to connect multiple MVAX
systems via UTP onto separate LANS and again join them onto one extended
    LAN on occasions.

Please send me a mail requesting the .ps doc & I'll mail it back
    to you.

    Thanks Al
