I'm working on a bid and competing HP for HUB's, and making a good chance! In order to complete the proposal i'm looking for the following answers. Does the DECagent 90 and the DEChub 900MS hubmanager respond to IEEE 802.2 test packets and ICMP echo requests (ping) ? | IEEE 802.2 test packet | ICMP echo request (ping) ---------------+--------------------------------+------------------------------ | | DECAgent 90 | ?? | ?? | | DEChub 900 MS | ?? | ?? | | regards jos

Anything in the hub that you've give an IP address will respond to ping.

Both will respond to ping (ICMP Echo Request). The DECagent90 will respond to IEEE Test. The DEChub 900 Multiswitch manager will not respond to IEEE Test itself, because it has no MAC address of its own; however, if there is an In-band address configured for it the IP Services module will respond to Test messages to its MAC address.
