778.0. "DECbridge 90 Performanc" by WELSWS::GREENR (Curiosity Killed The Cat) Tue Mar 01 1994 05:29

Does anyone have any guidelines on the forwarding delay imposed by
    a DECbridge 90 ?

The bridge forwards each frame as soon as it is received (meaning that
the CRC and framing is correct), so the delay (as compared to a
repeater) is the transmit time for the packet (a function of packet
length); it is full wire speed.

Note: when comparing this performance to 'switching' bridges, which
begin forwarding as soon as the Address is received you should point
out that such devices forward runts and other bad packets. This has
the effect of reducing the available bandwidth of the net.
